What Kind Of Implants Will Be Used And Where Will They Be Placed?

We offer both saline and silicone breast implants. Each type has specific advantages. For example, silicone implants have a more natural look and feel. If the possibility of rippling is a concern, silicone implants are preferred. However, silicone implants are more expensive and patients require closer, long- term follow up. Patients who choose saline implants often want the shorter incision, fuller appearance and lower cost. Also, since the latest generation saline implants have been available longer, more women have friends or relatives with saline implants. They are more comfortable with the idea that someone close to them has had a good experience with saline implants. Together, you and Dr. Kim will decide which type and which size implant will work best for you. Dr. Kim finds that, in most cases, the best results will be achieved with sub-muscular placement of implants.  

Where Will The Incisions Be Placed?

Incisions are placed carefully to minimize any visible scarring. Depending on your individual anatomy and wishes, incisions may be placed either in the breast crease, the areola (the dark tissue surrounding the nipple) or the armpit. 

Can Breast Augmentation Be Combined With Other Procedures?

Yes.  Depending on your individual circumstances, breast augmentation may be combined with a breast lift to both increase volume and improve contouring in one single procedure.
