Evolence® is a highly purified porcine collagen product that is cross-linked with a naturally occurring sugar that the body uses as a building block to provide long-lasting results. Because the ingredients of EVOLENCE® are so similar to naturally occurring collagen in the human body, there is no longer a need for skin pre-testing as with some older collagen dermal fillers.

Although everyone responds differently to pain, most patients find the experience to be comfortable. Prior to receiving the injections, the skin may be numbed with an effective anesthetic and cool packs to help alleviate any discomfort.

Side effects from Evolence® are very mild and usually include injection-related side effects such as slight redness and mild bruising. Generally, these side effects are minimal and dissipate within a few hours or days.

Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one treatment. Because Evolence® supplements the body's depleted collagen, results are seen immediately. The effects of Evolence® are longer-lasting than some other collagen dermal fillers, up to six months or more.

The length of the treatment depends on the treated area. Typically the treatment is complete in less than an hour. Most people feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately following their appointment. Make-up may be applied soon after treatment.

Evolence®, among all the available fillers, is the most natural. It causes minimal swelling and bruising. Evolence® is a collagen based filler that does not require any allergy pretesting. Also, while prior collagen fillers had a very short duration of about 2-3 months, Evolence® is FDA approved as a 6 month duration filler. In some studies it has been shown to have up to a 12 month duration.

The collagen is derived from pigs. It is a similar collagen to that used for replacement heart valves, lenses, and surgical meshes. The collagen is cleaved in a process using natural enzymes resulting in a collagen that is so natural it is actually integrated into the body’s own collagen matrix.

Evolence® is not indicated for lip enhancement. However, another filler called Evolence Breeze™ is currently being evaluated as a lip filler.
