What Is Ultrashape® Ultrasound Therapy? |

UltraShape® is a non-invasive fat loss treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to break down fatty tissue, which is then naturally eliminated from the body. While UltraShape® is not yet FDA approved, more than 100,000 procedures have been performed in 57 countries around the world. Dr. Goldberg has been chosen as one of the first research sites in the United States for the UltraShape® body sculpting system. This device will be available in our office once it is FDA approved. |

| How Does Ultrashape® Work? |
UltraShape® delivers therapeutic ultrasound energy to targeted areas of fat. The ultrasound energy disrupts fat cells, without harming surrounding tissue. The dissolved fat is flushed from the body through the body’s own natural metabolic process. The UltraShape® procedure is completely pain-free, with no need for injections, incisions, or pain medications.

How Is The Ultrashape® Procedure Performed? |

After marking the treatment area, a hand-held device is used to deliver focused ultrasound energy to disrupt fat cells in the targeted areas. The UltraShape® system uses a highly sophisticated tracking and guidance mechanism to ensure safe, effective and uniform treatment. Treatment usually takes between one and two hours, depending on the size of the area to be treated. Patients can resume normal activities immediately following treatment. |

What Kind Of Results Can I Expect From Ultrashape®? |

UltraShape® technology is clinically proven to reduce body circumference by an average of two centimeters after one treatment, with incremental improvements resulting from multiple treatments. Most patients will have the best results after three treatments.

Dr. Goldberg is at the forefront of research for an exciting new technology that has the potential to revolutionize fat treatment in the same way that BOTOX® Cosmetic revolutionized the treatment of facial wrinkles. Currently in clinical trials in both the United States and Europe, deoxycholate aims to be the first safe, standardized, purified and FDA approved injectable drug for the dissolution of localized fat.

How Will The New Treatment Work? |

The new drug works to selectively destroy fat tissues when it is injected into the subcutaneous fat layer. It is hoped that the clinical trials will prove that the drug can reduce fat in targeted areas.
